A fresh migrant from Mali has been touted as a hero and “spiderman” after he scaled four floors of a building to rescue a dangling infant.
In an interview, 22-year-old Mamoudou Gassama said he was at a football event when he heard people screaming and saw the kid dangling. He immediately thought of how to rescue the child, saying “I love children.” He said he scaled a door and then raised himself from balcony to balcony.
He was hardly up the level of the child before he quickly grabbed the child’s hand and pulled him to safety.
The French prime minister Emmanuel Macron has invited Mamoudou him to personally thank him while the Mayor promised him assistance by the City of Paris in settling in France.
