Electricity is the hub of economic and technological development of any nation. And the key to achieving a lasting solution to steady Power Supply in Ogun State is to develop electric power generation and supply system on a local government basics. Every LGA will generate, transmit and distribute electricity for its immediate community consumption.
I will decentralized power generation and allow communities to discover their potentials to cater for their electricity consumption using various alternative source to meet the electricity need of our people, such as to allow more Independent Power Provider and investors to come and utilize various untapped resources that could meet our electricity appetite as well as creating job for our teeming youth.
Unlike the light up Ogun project of the outgoing governor, Which concentrate on industrial locations where independent power plants introduce possible embedded facility to most industries within the areas to serve mostly government hospitals, health centres, police stations and educational establishments. We are people driven, therefore we shall take into consideration the people’s right to stable electricity power in their homes and small business offices as well as to boost local production of various goods and services in the state. Everyone will be involved in the development agenda of my administration as the governor of Ogun State 2019, through the Leading Edge Agenda for economic prosperity for all across the communities in Ogun State.
My desire to consolidate Ogun State to become an industrial hub of Africa will be propelled by uninterrupted power supply to every homes, villages and entire business environment because without light the people will be in darkness, and how can we lead a population of over 5 million people living in darkness to take the lead in the comity of nation state, Nigeria ?
We are goin to do things with deference to successfully eradicate darkness in Ogun State, by reviewing the deal signed by governor Amosun with the eight IPP firms in a deal worth $497.6m with little or nothing to show for it. I will ensure that every discrepancy in that deal will be exposed and ensure transparency in every government deals that’s meant for the public good.
No more business as usual, leadership is a serious profession, the people of Ogun State deserves an ethical leader and a fresh mind that will set ablaze the Leading Edge Traits in our people.
