Reno Omokri, ex-media aide to former President Goodluck Jonathan, has alluded to double standards regarding certificate forgery as it relates to former Minister of Finance Kemi Adeosun and Senator Ademola Adeleke.

His statement came following the call for the arraignment of Senator Ademola Adeleke, governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State, on allegations of examination malpractice.

Adeleke’s arraignment is coming a few days before the September 22 Osun gubernatorial election.

Kemi Adeosun, former Minister of Finance had resigned from her position on the premise of being in possession of a “not genuine” NYSC exemption certificate.

She was said to have left the country not too long afterwards, and she is yet to face charges for being in possession of a forged certificate.

Meanwhile, Adeleke had been having issues with his WAEC certificate — which the examination body eventually cleared — before a Police statement on Wednesday called for his immediate arraignment in court following allegations of examination malpractice — this time for a National Examinations Council (NECO) examination.

Omokri, who is a PDP supporter, expressed his reservations concerning the call for Adeleke’s arraignment.

A tweet via his handle read: “@HMKemiAdeosun admits to forgery and is escorted to Abuja airport to board a flight to London. Senator Adeleke is accused of forgery and is asked to report to @PoliceNG for court arraignment days to Osun election. Meanwhile Buhari can’t explain the whereabouts of his certificate.”
